The story begins with the assassination of Androgeo, the celebrated Prince of Knossos, in Athens. Having just won the Olympic Games, his triumph is cut short by a treacherous act of violence. This shocking event sets off a chain reaction, leading to war between Crete and Athens. The scene is one of betrayal and bloodshed, foreshadowing the horrors that are to come.

Captured and caged, Princess Ulma and Leida, along with other young women, are transported to the Cretan galleys. The once-proud princesses now find themselves helpless and humiliated, displayed like trophies as they are paraded to their fates. The fear and despair in their eyes reflect the grim future that awaits them as they are loaded onto the galley, bound for a life of slavery.

Chained to the oars of the galley, Princess Ulma and Leida endure a brutal existence of relentless rowing, exhaustion, and cruelty.
